EXPERIENCE DESIGNER
Experience designer and leader who walks the talk — on budget, on brand, and on deadline.
Certified UX Designer
These days, lots of people claim to be design thinkers and digital strategists. But finding established user experience designers who can walk the talk is a different story. (We do exist! Be good to us! We like coffee and chocolate!)
I’ve been managing all aspects of user experience work — on deadline, under pressure, with KPIs and ROIs in mind — for more than 20 years. I understand the connection of content and function with the needs of the business and the expectations of the users.
Optimizing user experience and interaction for maximum satisfaction and return is more than just trendy-buzzwordy-keywordy nonsense. Brands invest significant time and money to build effective digital products. The very best experiences have visual balance, emotional heft, and compelling storytelling. But they also take great care to make the effort feel effortless. That’s what I do.
UX DESIGN PROCESS
I delight in bridging a brand's goals and objectives with their users' behavior and expectations. Click on the images below to learn more about my user experience design process.
Visual Design
Visual design is not user experience design.
Most people think they go hand-in-glove, and they do, but hands are hands and gloves are gloves. Many people who excel in strategy and planning cannot grip the mouse themselves. They don’t understand fonts, mood boards, and color palettes. UXers believe form follows function, but designers know that functional form can still be beautiful.
UX practitioners give you a highlighted roadmap and a detailed itinerary for your trip. Designers rent you a Corvette and put the top down.
I’ve executed the design and delivery of other’s visions from concept to final printing. I’ve managed production, selected art, defined palettes and style guides, and feel as comfortable with the doing and with the telling. I also know how to stay in whichever lane I am needed.
